I was in the area for business and I was craving good Chinese food. of course I turned to Yelp for advice and found Evergreen. I was not disappointed and removed the craving that I had very quickly. I sat at the bar which I typically do when I am traveling by myself. There bar was a little small and I ended up being the only customer there. No worries, still a great meal. So let's talk about the food. I started off with Pork Buns and they were really good. Good flavor and consistency of the buns. After devouring them, I had my main entree. I picked the General Tous Chicken. Once again the portions were very good, the flavor was right on point and I really enjoyed my meal. Service was good. Nothing exceptional but it was solid. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Please support this business.

Extremely good food and service I absolutely recommend it for anyone who wants to try authentic Chinese food

In 30 years of ordering from Evergreen, at least monthly, I've never once been disappointed in either the food or the service.

On another visit to Ann Arbor, we decided to try Evergreen for lunch. It's located in a shopping plaza with parking lot availability. I liked the ambiance and decor, soft lighting, mirrors, and has booths and tables available. We ordered spring rolls, which I liked because they didn't have shrimp in them. We also had pot stickers that I was not a fan of but my husband liked. I just like a hint of ginger and these had a little more. For our entree, we ordered the evergreen double happiness. I would've rated it a 5 but it wasn't hot enough. I prefer my food steaming hot and it was lukewarm. It was delicious though and especially loved the chicken as it's lightly breaded and the lemon sauce is not overpowering. Great customer service, prompt in refilling our drinks and friendly.

This is a surprisingly beautiful spot in a strip mall with excellent service. My pics do not do it justice, but it's very modern, clean and full of Chinese artwork. I ordered 2lunch specials: the beef w broccoli and veg lomein. Both were good, but not necessarily spectacular. The peas in the fried rice were chalky and the spring roll was served sans sauce. There were many locals there chatting with the servers, very happy with the food and service. I will return to try some of the dishes they are famous for.

I usually chose from Chinese menu and ask their staff's recommendation. So far, what I had were all delicious. That's why I keep going back. Food is good. strongly recommended.

I live about 15 min outside of Ann Arbor, but I don't mind a drive when I start craving Chinese food. I probably drive by a half dozen other places but when I say you should skip them all, I mean skip them ALL. Go directly to Evergreen, and go now! Everything I have had here is amazing. I actually haven't eaten inside. I get takeout on the app. Even though they were designed to he a sit down, they pivoted to add takeout during covid and have been going strong. I strongly recommend the pork rib spicy hot pot. I've also had the cumin lamb, agadashi tofu, egg drop soup, and the steak on a stick app. I recently discovered the whole lemon tea, and it was a whole lot of yum. Everything I have been ordered has been perfect, and I have been able to experiment without risk because the whole menu is spectacular. I wish the app had points, but I'm a frequent flyer here anyway.

Evergreen on Plymouth is exceptional Chinese food. Some of the best I have found in Michigan. The dining room is low-lit and well suited for a date night or meeting up with friends. This is not a casual fast food joint, though their take out game is strong. Use the app to make your order for pickup or delivery. There are plenty of pictures and descriptions to help you order at your table too. The tea is not included but a wonderful presentation of flower tea for the table. My favorites here are the spicy green beans, pan fried dumplings, MaPo Tofu, and the wonton soup. The soup broth is so good. It is perfect palette cleanser, light meal for when you are not feeling well or just need a clean soup. The MaPo Tofu has ground pork. I order it medium spice. The flavors and textures with that proper spice level is a home run for me. The potstickers are fresh, with the right proportion of filling to dough. Don't skip the scallion pancake if you need more grease in your life ;) it's the right amount of crispy to chewy. Make a night of it and have a family style dinner - try new things. They have two menus. The Shanghai style rice cakes are good too, but I add hot oil. It's good but bland, if you don't like spice, this is your dish.
